Solidarity in Tallahassee

The community of Tallahassee is very politically charged because it is the capital of Florida. I think that this encourages a lot of people to be more expressively political, as they have more opportunities to voice their beliefs. Topics such as police brutality and the war in Ukraine are a few that produce a lot of support at the capital as people hope to increase their platform to use their voice and try to enact change. More recently with the overturn of Roe v. Wade, I have also seen a lot of solidarity in my community to support. The camp I work at is located in downtown Tallahassee, so as the ruling was overturned, I saw a lot of people walking to the capital as I was at recess with my class. Especially as a woman, it was like a light at the end al e of a dark tunnel to see people in my community stand up for female reproductive rights.
