Hello! My name is Anna and I am a Public Health major here at FSU, from Cocoa Beach, FL.
This summer, I will serve as a Youth Mentor for the International Rescue Committee. The International Rescue Committee is a humanitarian organization whose mission is to help those who have been affected by humanitarian crises. In this position, I will be mentoring a family of six siblings who recently immigrated to the United States from Syria.
While I have already met the family, I am excited to continue to build a relationship and help them meet their goals this summer! Since this position is based in Tallahassee, I feel confident going into this experience. However, I understand I still have a lot to learn and I am excited to learn from this experience as well as apply what I’ve learned from the Global Scholars course.
