Caroline Oteri’s Blog Post

This week, we are spotlighting Caroline Oteri! She is a returning UROP Leader for the 2021-2022 academic year. Caroline writes, ”I was born and raised in Montvale, New Jersey, and I am a fourth-year student here at FSU. I am majoring in Clinical Professions through the Interdisciplinary Medical Sciences degree program, and plan on taking a gap year after I graduate this spring before starting medical school. I am President of the Florida Zeta Chapter of Phi Delta Epsilon and work at TMH in the Outpatient Cardiac Diagnostic Unit.”

Caroline is passionate about her research and students—she writes, “As a UROP student, I conducted research in the Department of Biological Sciences under Natali Ramirez-Bullon. The focus of the study was to investigate why and how certain low-abundance plants are able to avoid extinction. In my second year as a UROP colloquium leader, my hope is that my students will have the opportunity to develop curiosity and confidence in their research abilities as they pursue their areas of interest and learn more about themselves.”

We’re glad to have you as a UROP Leader, Caroline, and we look forward to working with you this year! #FSU_UROP
