My name is Jaylynn Pierre, a senior majoring in Family and Child Sciences from Miami. This summer I will be in Orlando working with Americorp on a zero waste initiative. Working with the recycling initiative, Beyond 34, is related to my experience because it will give me insight on environmental improvements and their effect on the economy and overall community life.
I’m a little unsure of my day-to-day roles on the project. I also have never stayed in Orlando for more than a couple weeks, so I’m a little nervous about staying in this new area but I’m still very excited!
