In order to achieve my goals, I have been tackling my NASM course as soon as I wake up in the morning. I don’t even touch my phone or entertain any other thought. This has allowed me to get into the habit of putting all of my focus on one thing, no matter how early I have to wake up or what I have to do after. This has taken a lot of discipline, something I needed to work on anyways, so it’s a two birds with one stone situation. I have also gotten a job as a manager at GNC to pursue knowledge in the field of health and wellness. The hands on experience I’ve gotten and results I’ve seen when helping people put together vitamin regiments or weight loss regiments given to them by a progressional is so rewarding. Knowing that my help and knowledge can make another persons life better brings me great joy and reminds me every day why I am entering this field as a professional myself. The only adjustment I will need to make to my goals is giving myself more time for my NASM certification. The bulk of the content is much more challenging and thought provoking than I would have thought, so it takes longer to get through chapters now. Setting out a revised timeline that is more attainable so I don’t become discouraged would help me be disciplined. Another step I will take it block of some weekends to start volunteering with second harvest, a food insecurity organization near me. This will allow me to get an even greater sense of how nutrition and finances play a role together.
Getting real with my progress
