Reflecting on my overall summer experiences and the internship, I only have positive things to say about the two. My internship at Starter Studio has been bountiful and fruitful, yielding some of the best connections and memories I have made thus far during my two years at Florida State University. I feel like my internship at Starter Studio has challenged me as an individual and as an academic student, pushing me to strive for greatness and to never stop at the simple skyline until I achieve it.
It truly has been a battle of the brains, since my research project involving AG Tech is a field I have never intermingled with nor interested myself in either. Just doing simple desk research and outreach in the AG Tech community has shined a new light on the subject in my eyes, demonstrating the power and influence studiousness can have on a future entrepreneur. I appreciate the ability to learn new skills and techniques that the members of the Starter Studio team use on a daily basis, being a steady beacon of economic growth and exploration in the Orlando area; even more so, a true example of what it means to have a dream and want it to become a reality. Without places like Starter Studio, entrepreneurs may never have the chance to transform a great idea into a functioning mechanism of the community it inhabits, hindering the expansion of a whole business ecosystem in its entirety.
As for my summer, one can describe it as an exhilarating roller coaster that you’re sad must come to an end. I’ve had, for the most part, a full plate for the duration of it, working a full-time job while taking two summer classes and the internship to boot. I’ve also done a bit of traveling too, taking up a temporary position at a fine dining restaurant on the scenic 30A highway of Florida called Pescado. With the slight change of scenery as far as my job goes plus my academic obligations I’ve been a busy individual, yet I prefer to be busy and to have the challenge of time management and deadlines. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with my experiences this summer, cherishing them for years to come.
