I spent most of my time this summer at the HCB, in Strozier Library, on Landis Green, and at the Hecht house. I lived off-campus this summer, so I would drive to campus early in the morning and spend the entirety of my day in various places on campus. First, I would park in Traditions garage and then start the day in Strozier library completing my work from previous classes and studying for upcoming exams. Next, I would go to the HCB classroom building where thankfully both my Organic Chemistry II lecture and my Calculus III lecture were located. I would eat lunch in between these classes and would usually get out of the second lecture at about 3:00 P.M. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I didn’t have any time to waste as the TEFL lecture started at 3:30 P.M. I would rush over to the Hecht house and have some tea before beginning my three-hour lecture with Professor Kim. After the TEFL lecture was over I would head back to the house and have dinner, chat with my roommate about our day, and then head to my room to relax and get to bed early. This summer was tough and required a relentless work ethic, but through this schedule and having friends that kept me on top of things, I was able to get through it.
My spheres before I started my experience were much more complicated. I covered a lot more ground in my previous day’s maps, but I believe the contrast comes from me learning how to optimize my time on campus and finding niches that I enjoyed studying in. I would say my summer sphere reflects a newfound area of campus I enjoyed (especially without the large crowds). However, I am glad my spheres were so different because now I can say I am very familiar with the campus the areas I love, and the areas I don’t like so much.
