My Daily Environment

The area I work is about a thirty minute drive from my house, with traffic. It is right off of something called Anna Maria Islands, so my drive is very scenic and beautiful. You can see the water from all areas of the building and during the drive, which is a great start and end (and middle) to the work day. I work between two buildings, mostly. Both are attached as a picture and are starred. The first, which I spend most of my time in, is the actual office where the State Attorney and Assistant State Attorneys do their paperwork, interviews, and other trial preparation. Then, we also spent a lot of time in the courthouse, which is right across the street. This is of course where trials and small hearings, like arraignments or First Appearances, would take place. I actually watched a trending murder trial here, often called the ‘Black Swan Murder Trials.’

The actual inside of the office is quite basic, but since everyone has decorated their offices and areas, it is quite homey. Though I had my own office for the first few days, I eventually got moved to a cubicle-like seat. I thought this would be super uncomfortable but it ended up making me meet so many people and helped me strengthen these relationships just by having small conversations as people passed by.
