Looking Back

My experiences in Italy and Brazil have deepened my understanding of cultural exchange and sustainable practices. Initially, my Capstone was going to be a cookbook, inspired by the rich culinary traditions I encountered. However, as I spent more time in these communities, I realized that food is just one part of a much larger cultural narrative. This led me to shift my focus toward a more comprehensive academic report that explores not only cuisine but also the social, historical, and environmental contexts that shape these traditions.

Over the summer, I discovered that my passion for cultural connections goes beyond just learning; it’s about actively contributing and problem-solving within these communities. Moving into the fall, I’m eager to integrate these broader insights into my Capstone and future projects, emphasizing sustainability and cultural integration as key elements.
