This has been an absolutely life changing summer. In the beginning I was extremely nervous that I would not be able to make friends at camp. It felt like going to a new school and not knowing anyone except this time I was 20 and not in gradeschool at all. All of my worries melted away the moment I met my new best friends during the first lunch we had on camp. Surrounded by other like minded college students, I was able to truly be my authentic self. They all liked me for me and we embraced each others uniqueness. I will deeply miss serendipitous golf cart rides, singing at lunch, and greeting newcomers. The act of smiling for others is something I will take with me for the rest of my life.
My capstone is going great! I am so excited to share the positivity that camp has brought to mealtimes.
