Drainage in Nepal

A big issue in Nepal is the drainage. It can clog up for years at a time, removing people from their homes, and relocating community centers such as schools. I think it does not get a lot of mainstream attention in Nepal because this issue is so normalized. Drainage issues do not get media or news play unless it is so extreme it threaten the life of civilians. Globally this issue does not get covered because there is too much going on in the world. It does not make sense for global news outlets to report on a problem that has been so constant in Nepal. Instead, they focus on war, famine, and natural disasters.
