Visiting the Trevi Fountain, the Colosseum, and Vatican City in Rome profoundly expanded my understanding of what makes up a community. These iconic landmarks provided a glimpse into how deeply history and culture influence a community’s identity. The Trevi Fountain, with its intricate sculptures and the tradition of tossing coins for wishes, showcased the artistry and cultural heritage of Rome. Standing before the Colosseum, I felt connected to the grandeur of ancient Rome and its impact on contemporary culture. With its immense religious and historical significance, exploring Vatican City deepened my appreciation for how spiritual beliefs shape a community.
My experiences in Europe, especially during my internship in Valencia, allowed me to immerse myself in different cultural environments and see how communities are shaped not just by their locations but by their shared history, values, and traditions. This journey highlighted the diversity of what constitutes a community. It’s not just about where you are but also about the shared experiences and cultural elements that bring people together.
