Valencia Reflections

While in Valencia, Spain, I became more attuned to several structural inequalities, particularly in healthcare access and digital connectivity. In certain neighborhoods, disparities in access to quality healthcare services were noticeable. Residents in lower-income areas often faced longer wait times and had fewer medical facilities.

The COVID-19 pandemic further highlighted these disparities, as individuals in these communities were more vulnerable to severe outcomes due to underlying health conditions and limited access to healthcare resources. Additionally, the digital divide was apparent, with many lacking the necessary technology or internet access to utilize telehealth services or participate in remote education and work opportunities.

For my Capstone Project, I am interested in exploring the time efficiency it takes to attend to patients in the U.S. compared to the healthcare system in Europe. This project will involve comparing the processes, resources, and overall efficiency of healthcare delivery between these regions. By analyzing various metrics such as wait times, treatment durations, and patient outcomes, I aim to identify best practices and areas for improvement in both systems.

While in Valencia, I visited the Valencian Zoo and saw many different types of animals from marsupials and mammals to reptiles.
