Culture Experience in Tokyo, Japan

Japan, has been one that I have been able to immerse myself in. Being in Japan for 6 weeks has helped me immerse myself in food, transportation, and etiquette. In Japan, it is necessary to always say “thank you” for the things that are being done for you. Furthermore, Japanese transportation culture is very unique usually people stand in a line before getting onto the train. While in Japan I have been able to dive into the culture through my Japanese friends. I do feel like I’ve been able to explore a new culture, but not fully immersed in Japanese culture because they have such a unique set of rules and mannerisms. I do feel like seeing others make room for people on public transportation, and the caring staff in restaurants and hotels has changed my perspective of hospitality and community.
