Recapping my Experience

As I wrap up my summer project, I’m reflecting on an experience that has been both transformative and eye-opening. Immersing myself in the local agrarian traditions of Italy has provided invaluable insights into the cultural and practical aspects of farming. Working closely with local farmers and participating in their daily routines has broadened my understanding of how agriculture is deeply intertwined with community life.

This experience has significantly shaped my worldview by highlighting the importance of cultural immersion and hands-on learning. I’ve developed a newfound appreciation for how local traditions and sustainable practices contribute to environmental stewardship and community well-being. It’s been a powerful reminder of the value of engaging directly with different practices and perspectives.

However, my Capstone Project has encountered some unexpected challenges. Initially, I had a clear vision of my goals, but as the project progressed, my interests evolved, leaving me uncertain about how to proceed. I’m currently working to adjust the project’s direction to align with my updated objectives. This shift has been difficult, but I’m actively seeking guidance and exploring alternative approaches to ensure meaningful outcomes.

Despite the project not going as smoothly as I hoped, I’m using this period as an opportunity for growth and adaptation. By consulting with mentors and re-evaluating my goals, I’m hopeful that I can overcome these obstacles and complete the project in a way that reflects my evolving aspirations.
