Through my time in volunteering for Second Harvest, my concept of community has shifted as I see how people are able to come together from all over to help in a single cause. Everyone can help out in their own way towards a common goal. Hundreds of people choose to spend hours sorting, packaging and otherwise distributing goods to the people of Central Florida. Many others choose to donate directly, either their goods or monetarily. Individuals do what they can through donating their time and resources to help those in need, and that warms my heart. The community here is very encouraging and warm, I love being able to head here for the summer and recommend the experience to anyone who has free time.
