I arrived in Kathmandu Nepal about a week ago! Since then there have been so many new experiences. At first, all of the differences seemed very overwhelming, but day by day I began to get used to them. One of the first things I noticed is how nice and friendly people are. From the people I encounter on the street to the women I teach, there has been endless kindness. I was a little shocked to find out that I would be teaching mothers of a public school English, as I thought I would be doing something different. However, I have found it to be such an incredible experience (so far).
The women are so supportive of each other, helping those through learning an entirely new language. They are also incredibly welcoming. I am teaching them solo, something I have never done before, and they have been encouraging and eager to learn every day! I feel very lucky to be working with these wonderful women! I am not only teaching them but they are teaching me too! I cannot wait to see what the next week brings!
