Transitioning from camp counselor from a camper is definitely something that has been a full-circle moment for me. Working with children has been one of the most rewarding yet hard things that I have yet to do. It is filled with the loudest laughs, and the greatest frustrations, which is all worth it knowing you will make a positive impact in the life of a kid at the end of the day.
My schedule is very simple, reminding me of when I was in high school, 8:30-4:30 every single day. The first week of having to wake up before the sun just to get ready was a tough transition but ultimately ended up being worth it. I absolutely love the work I am doing, and feel as though the camp I am working at is starting to become a second home.
Everyone at camp has been more than welcoming, and I have even started to figure out my research project that this experience will culminate into a little more! I am so excited to see where the rest of the summer takes me, and could not be happier with the work I am currently doing. My team and all the other staffers around me have made this the best first week it could possibly be.
Signing off with love,
Nadia Soifer
