Hello lovely readers!
Sorry for the long wait but so much has been happening in the last couple of weeks and I was just trying to enjoy every second!
After attending the Festa dei Ceri in Gubbio, Umbria, I worked on the farm at La Cuccagna for a couple of more days before heading to Florence for a couple of nights to visit some friends at the FSU Florence Campus on my way to Rimini. (I have absolutely fallen in love with European train travel and am already mentally planning how to get my sister to go backpacking with me after graduation). It was wonderful to see so many friends across the world and see how eating habit change from the countryside to the city and from Umbria to Tuscany.
I then made my way to my second WWOOF experience at Tenuta Saiano in Montebello, Emilia-Romagna and I have never loved a work experience so much! I got to work at the vineyards, pick artichokes for the on-site restaurant, see some of the ‘behind-the-scenes’ of making salumi and watch how a small-scale organic farm works! The coolest part for me was that the farm stocked a local restaurant in Santarcangelo di Romagna and the onsite, seasonal wine garden, Bucolica. I got to try so many new dishes and knowing that the ingredients were coming from only a few meters away was an incredible experience.
I arrived back in the United States this week and am now beginning prep to head to São Paulo and work at the art festival I have mentioned in other posts. Wish me luck and I will keep y’all updated!
