What’s good everyone!
My name is Adrian Vivas-Nambo, I’m a sophomore double majoring in Biological Sciences and Spanish with a minor in Chemistry. I am from Orlando, Florida but I am also Mexican. This summer for my experience I am going to be interning at Fisiolife which is in Valencia, Spain, where I’ll be observing and learning from the head physical therapists during patient consultations. Assisting therapists with exercises and treatments, including muscle training and proprioception exercises. And performing basic treatments like applying pressotherapy and setting up electrostimulators. This is related to my experience as I am trying to gain more insight into how the medical field operates from a medical physician standpoint so I can decide whether I’m Pre-Med or Pre-PA, as pathology, orthopedics, and anesthesiology have been very intriguing to me lately.
My expectation for my experience is actually quite chill not only am I going to embark on new rules when it comes to HIPPA in a whole new country, but a whole new continent and how they respect patient confidentiality. Furthermore, not only would I be in Valencia, but I’m set to travel to neighboring cities like Madrid and Barcelona. Additionally, I would visit London, England as I’d like to attend the UEFA Champions League Final and possibly if there’s time for it visit the city of Manchester. Currently, I am trying to learn Italian as I’d like to visit Rome, Italy as well. I pretty much know everything about what I am expected for my experience as it usually depends on how much I’d like to get out of it.
