Ever since joining Second Harvest and becoming an active volunteer, I do feel a different side of Tallahassee that I never seen or realized that is around. Despite Second Harvest being a small location and secular, it feels that it has its own environment.
I believe that I feel this way because of the people that volunteer and work there, where they create this kind and softhearted atmosphere. In Tallahassee, I have only been around campus and certain other establishments that do not compare to the smiles and people who are around Second Harvest. My concept of the community in Tallahassee has changed because I see the public health side, seeing how big this organization is and how many people it helps that does not get seen or heard about a lot. I am trying to get my friends more involved to provide more help because this community that provides help to many counties is something so wonderful. Becoming welcomed in so quickly is really what made me feel that I am a part of something bigger.
