Hey! I am Courtney!

Hi! My name is Courtney Phipps, I’m from Weston Florida and I’m a junior majoring in Psychology with a minor Sociology. Over the summer I will be joining NAMI here in Tallahassee and learning more about mental health specifically in the Tallahassee area. I will also be interning with the Florida Center for Reading Research where I will working as a research assistant in a literacy study. This study hopes to develop teaching strategies and improve levels of literacy at a preschool level. I expect to connect my two experiences and dig deeper into the impact of education on mental health, specifically examining the influence of literacy. I am excited to expand my knowledge on how external factors like levels of education can impact mental health while having the opportunity to engage with my local community!
