Hey everyone!
My name is Dylan Cook. I’m a sophomore from Weston, Florida studying Environmental Science at FSU. My hobbies include scuba diving, camping, hiking, photography, music, and puzzles. For my summer experience, I am planning on volunteering for the non-profit organization Marine Conservation Phillippines! I will be working with the local community to restore the local environment through beach cleanups, mangrove restoration, and fish surveys. During my stay, I will also be trained in the Rescue Diver Certification (PADI) and Divemaster Certification (PADI). Through my experience, I am hoping to gain a better understanding of international non-profits, future prospects for my career in environmental science, and of new outlooks on environmental conservation in general.
I’m expecting to learn a lot this summer! I’m a little nervous about traveling alone across the world, but I’m up for the challenge! I can’t wait to get in the water!
