Heading Back Home

To do good in your community is to treat the community like you would yourself. Every community is different; however, the community must be respected to be as healthy as possible. A new community can seem foreign, and one with a different culture and customs can seem difficult to understand and get involved with. Allowing yourself to be immersed in the community allows you to be a part of the community. However, being respectful and coming to understand a community can not only do good but also help the community flourish.

Research adds a level of understanding to your community or another you are trying to understand. Research for community engagement can be positive in understanding what kind of engagement is accepted in the community. Communities come in different shapes and sizes and progress can come not in an instant but through understanding and you as an individual trying and being respectful.

My community based interest of organic farms being more beneficial to the community was given a phenomenal example through Church Farm Ardeley. My view of community engagement has changed since now understanding the struggles that come with running an organic farm in this age. My CBI has through Church Farm Ardeley made into a realistic option for organic farms to operate with the community in mind. Through many activities which the farm gives access to the community to come out such as campgrounds and a care for adults with learning disabilities, the farm opens its arm up to the public, and in return profits not only monetarily but through the public presence keeping the farm running.
