Mapping My Impact

Habits and routines that I practice every day to better my community and myself are to wake up and go for a run to get my body moving and start my day off strong. This is one of my favorite ways to start off my day because it motivates me and helps me feel productive. I also enjoy stretching and doing yoga after to clear my mind and release any stress I may have. This summer, I have also recently started playing pickleball, which I really enjoy! These are some examples of daily routines I have been involving myself in to contribute to my well-being and happiness. For my community, I just try and focus on making a positive impact wherever I go or whoever I encounter. For example, I love to compliment someone or do at least one nice gesture for a stranger every day, will pick up liter off the ground, and just smile at people. You never know what someone is going through, so a simple smile can brighten someone’s day and overall contribute to the bettering of my community. I am a firm believer in self-care and loving yourself fully before you can love others. I think this is what the sphere on the canvas site sort of maps out. To be there for others and give your full potential, you must focus on your self first. Journaling, exercise, and yoga are all examples of things I do to prioritize myself. This summer I want to continue that, as well as show my loved ones my appreciation for them even more through acts of kindness like letters and gifts. – Taylor Haul
