Hello, I’m Valerie Contreras, a third-year student pursuing a dual degree in Political Science and Social Work, with a minor in Criminology! I am from the oh-so-live 305–Miami, FL! This summer I am interning at a personal injury law firm in Miami. This experience will help me gain a greater insight into how lawyers contribute to community justice and advocacy through different lenses.
My expectations for this summer are to learn what the litigation process entails and how it relates to my passions outside of the legal field. When I began college here at Florida State University, it was not to pursue a law degree, hence, there are many things I do not understand about the legal field yet, but I am eager to learn!
