A Warmi in Qosqo!

Some words in Quechua I learned are Warmi and Qosqo. Warmi means women/lady in Quechua while Qosqo (Cusco) means center of the universe! 🏔️

My current routine in Qosqo consist of waking up everyday at 7:30am and getting ready for work. Around 8:15am I head outside and take the bus to San Jeronimo, which is a 30-40 minute bus ride from where I’m staying. During this time, I’m usually looking at the scenery, since Qosqo is surrounded by mountains. After this, I get off at Mercado Vinocanchon (a communal market) and walk towards a breakfast stand where I get my Quinoa pineapple drink and toast with fried egg!

Right after, I walk up a hill towards a kids park where I sit and enjoy my breakfast as I watch the scenery. I’m usually done around 8:55am, which is when I get up and walk towards Casa Mantay that is a 1 minute walk away. During my time in Mantay, I volunteer in the kitchen prepping for the snacks and lunch of the day, while also helping with the babies and connecting with the mothers. When is lunch time, I also prep the table and ring the bell for everyone to come and get food! This usually happens at 1:30pm and after eating and playing with the kids a bit I leave at 2:30pm. I take a different bus back towards the Plaza de Armas (Main Plaza) and if there’s festivities I usually stay around to watch and take pictures. One of the days I stayed, I was able to join a local sourced travel agency in their parade towards the plaza which was really fun! They made me held a flyer and dance with life music!!! Usually, after this I have dinner and head back to my place to rest for the next day.
