The main areas that I inhabit on a daily basis are spaces at my job, whether it be the playground or the different buildings that camp is held, and Northwest Regional Library, which is where my experience is held. I inhabit the library more frequently than most other spaces I go to, and it has definitely had an effect on my usual perspective on my hometown.
I’ve been going to Northwest Regional Library ever since I first moved to Coral Springs in 2012. The library has always been a space that I inhabited when I was younger, but once I reached high school I didn’t go to the library as often. I started to inhabit new spaces as my interests completely shifted.
It’s interesting for me because when I was younger, I was never aware of the adult education services the library provided, so I would go to the library for a completely different reason. Now that I’m involved with the adult education sector of the library, I see the library as a completely different space, despite it being the same building I inhabited in my childhood. Through my experience and spending time at the library, I’ve been introduced to people of my hometown that come from a more concentrated population within the city, and I’m able to hear a little bit about their lives and experiences in the community.
