I started out working on this project because I wanted to really understand the correlation between emotions and music. What I realized moving forward was that it is all culturally rooted. There are some universal correlations, but ultimately, any art cannot exist outside of all cultures.
Traveling solo in India for the first time made me feel really empowered. I had to travel at night in some not-so-safe places as well, and moving forward with bravery, I felt proud of myself for being able to complete this project.
I made connections with other musicians and artists in general and that was my top goal! For this project to help me in my artistic journey. In the classes ahead, I’ll be presenting some specific findings but what matters the most is that I was able to execute an idea in my head.
