A Day In The Life Of An AmeriCorps Summer Vista – Eugene Major

A day in the life of me as a Summer Vista with PeaceJam Southeast typically consisted of me getting to the office at about 9:00 a.m. and leaving to go out to an organization around 10:00 a.m. The organization in the picture below was an organization called “The Oasis” here in Tallahassee. We’d typically spend around an hour talking to them about various different topics such as women having leadership, food insecurity, and things of that nature. After that I’d get back to the office and work on various assignments or attend a weekly department meeting. After the meeting I’d have a 30 minute lunch break and later on that day I would do tabling for orientation to tell students about not only what my organization does but what our department does as well. After that my shift ended and i’d do it all over again the next day.
