From what I have experienced this summer, solidarity in the healthcare and medical community looks like communication and trust. It is very important for both doctors and patients to communicate and listen to one another to arrive at a solid plan or conclusion for the patient. Patients must be fully honest about what they are experiencing for the doctor to be able to support them as much as is possible. Doctors must also be able to effectively communicate their knowledge and understanding to their patients. Creating a reliable line of communication and trust between doctors and patients is vital for the community. If this doesn’t occur, it becomes evident when a patient is not progressing in their health and/or treatment.
