To keep my traveling costs to a minimum, I have mostly traveled through public transport (Metro Trains or Local Trains) inside the cities. It is difficult to make one cohesive map of my travels, as I have traveled to so many different parts of India. However, most of the artists I have interviewed have been from and around Delhi, especially the southern part of Delhi. My parents’ house is in Indirapuram, that is in Ghaziabad, to the east of Delhi and northeast of New Delhi. Usually, to reach artists’ venues, I would have to take a metro train from around Noida and then move towards Central New Delhi and then change a train towards South Delhi. South Delhi is supposed to be one of the more prosperous parts of Delhi. If I were to make a map of the places I used to inhabit before I started the project, it would only be around the east, that is Indirapuram, Noida, and Ghaziabad. My travels to Delhi, and especially South Delhi, were very less frequent. In total, it’s over 2 hours train journey one way from Indirapuram to South Delhi.
