The Center as a Home

Coming to Pavarotti Education Center was a completely new experience, in which I have learned about culture, community, and the environment here in Guatemala. These different “spheres” here in the center have demonstrated what it is like to live in a brand new environment, as well as get to know the surrounding location of San Lucas Toliman. I appreciate such an experience immensely, especially writing about it now in this blog and being used to these various locations. The spheres before I started my experience were much less, considering I was becoming used to a new environment here in Guatemala. I came into my experience nervous but not so much scared, since I already have visited Guatemala before having family here. Now, I am able to compare where my family here in Guatemala is from, Palencia, to San Lucas Toliman. As well as knowing of other places here in the country, I appreciate I am able to create a larger map than the one shown in the image. It has been a great experience to get to know the country my family is from further, as well as connecting with my own culture.
