My routine with TEFL

This week I felt like I was finally getting the hang of this. Each class is 3 hours long, twice a week, and on top of my other classes this summer that was a little overwhelming at first. I also started tutoring for the first time this week and I was very nervous about it. However, now that I’m at the end of this week, I feel much more secure about everything. I am more familiar with tutoring and I’ve met my tutees multiple times this week. I also feel more confident about the course work. We just took our midterm and I think I did a good job.

As I’ve grown more confident, I’ve been creating and falling into more of a routine. I have class Tuesdays and Thursdays and then I tutor Monday, Wednesday, Friday. After each class I do my readings and assignments and then on the weekends I prepare lesson plans for each tutoring session. Making sure I am prepared for my tutoring sessions is an integral part of my routine because the more prepared I am the less nervous I feel. I have had a great time with my tutees so far and I am determined to help them achieve fluency in English.
