Food Security

In this community, solidarity looks like different organizations coming together to solve a problem that will benefit all. In my case, the issue is food security. The current fishing practices are not sustainable with current environmental pressures. The local government, NGOs like Marine Conservation Philippines, and local fishermen have recognized this problem and are unified to find a solution that benefits all. The recognition of the problem becomes most evident when these organizations come together as they did on World Ocean’s Day. Local officials are also very close with the NGO I am volunteering with and they often visit base and participate in dives.
