Solidarity means unified and Ghana has a strong tie when it comes to being together community-wise. During the day when traders are selling at the market, the workers are not defined as coming together but the buyers who support their business represent solidarity. I also witness that during annual events or partying, everybody wants to have a good time and enjoy the night. They all come together and drink responsively of course and dance all night long maybe until the sun comes up. The sense of community is really strong like calling an elder woman, “Auntie” or “Grandma” when you are younger and don’t even know them. The kids can get disciplined by any adult that is witnessing them misbehaving, they are also allowed to spank them even in schools to receive punishment. When working at the office and I get a client who doesn’t speak English well, one of the neighboring clients will assist them to help me out which is so nice.
Together, Forever
