This week, I completed an Elisa lab with other members of my cohort. It is a common test used to determine if someone has exposure to a virus. For this scenario, we used the ELISA test to determine if someone had Ebola. We also connected the test with the time period in which Ebola had a major outbreak.
My experience ends two weeks from now; I began early, on May 15th, and moved in for the in person component on the 30th of May. That said, my mentor has linked me with a student who is combining neuroscience with biostatistics, so it is potentially something I would still be working on throughout the fall semester remotely, maybe meeting in person only for poster presentations. Apparently, this student has about 20 publications, and texted my mentor that, quote, “She better be good.” I’m nervous but if we meet in person hopefully I won’t disappoint!
