Hi everyone! My name is Natalie Pilipczak. I am a Biology major and I am from the Daytona Beach area! Over the summer, I will be participating in research at the Florida State University Coastal and Marine Lab about an hour outside of Tallahassee on the coast. I am excited about this opportunity because I want to become more involved with research during undergrad. I will be applying to veterinary school next summer and am hoping to use research in order to expand my experiences so that I can be more successful in the research aspect of veterinary medicine and also to meet the undergraduate research expectations that veterinary schools want you to have on your application.
I expect to learn a lot and become involved in the research community at the lab but also in the broader research community at FSU and academia. I’m not sure what my duties will involve on a day-to-day basis as we are still figuring out the scheduling logistics, which I feel a bit uneasy about since I don’t like things being up in the air. However, I am confident that I will enjoy my experience regardless and will value it as an enriching and unique opportunity.
